A training holiday is the perfect opportunity to bond with your pet as you learn a host of new skills. I can recommend Dog Friendly accommodation too! Any kind of training program requires commitment and change. You will see immediate improvement in your dogs behaviour but I can offer no guarantees with regards to future improvement. That will all depend on you keeping up the training program that we put in place.
How I can help:
On the Two Day Intensive Training course, I will be training you to train your dog! These courses are just as successful as Residential Training with MOST dogs! Many of the issues that owners have with their dog, is a lack of respect for them, & their dog thinking that he is in charge.
This state of mind of your dog and the issues between you and your dog can not be changed by simply sending your dog away for training. You need to be a part of it.
So, why send your dog away for 2-6 weeks, when in most cases you can see the same results in two days! This new behaviour must then be reinforced daily by you, for the new behaviour to become normal for your dog. I have 100s of success stories each year.
I will help you to build your confidence again, in situations, that in the past have made you feel uneasy or anxious. Once a dog picks up on this energy, he very quickly feels the need to protect himself and you, he feels that you have lost control and doesn't see you as 'Pack Leader' So in many cases he will exhibit what appears to be aggressive behaviour.
Fortunately, most of this behaviour is 'learned' and we can change this in most cases. The course will teach him to ignore what is going on around him, and focus on you. You then need to be committed to continue the new rules when you get home. Rehabilitation of any dog can take a bit of time.
It is a successful alternative to Residential Training, and it also means that you don’t have to be parted from your dog for weeks on end!
The results can be astounding! Dogs can change very quickly if they are given the correct guidance which consists of new rules and boundaries, which are simple and easy to follow. These new rules just need to be implemented daily and of course this requires lots of consistency and repetition on your part!
The two day training courses are successful for the majority of the dogs that have already attended, but there are no guarantees unfortunately. But it's about you - the owner continuing the training when you return home.
You have to remember that your dog is a dog! Consistency and repetition help your dog to become much calmer and well mannered and a pleasure to be around.
I'll explain why it’s important to be the “pack leader” while teaching you the skills required to set solid rules, boundaries and limitations for your dog.
You will also see how happy and calm my well balanced pack are and how I can take them all into any situation, ie busy country park, tearoom, pub, busy town/city, camping or in a BnB, hotel or holiday cottage.
I want to enable you to feel confident in taking your dog into all of these situations and more!! I want you to be able to enjoy being with your dog. Not seeing them as a hinderance or embarrassment.
We will concentrate on the issues that affect YOU and your dog.
I want you to go home feeling more confident, more positive about dealing with your dogs behaviour. I want your visit to be an enjoyable experience for both you and your dog. I welcome all family members to join us. During the course, I will use my deep understanding of dog psychology and behaviour to help you tackle problems, including:
Pulling on the lead
Lack of manners
Over the two days, your dog will interact with my well-balanced pack and in most cases learn to ignore other dogs of various shapes, sizes, and breeds when on the lead.
We will pay a visit to Bradgate Park (which is on my door step). There we will encounter dogs, deer, children, vehicles, cycles, prams etc. We will also visit the tearoom and In most cases I will show you how you can do all of this just in two days!!. You need to show commitment and be prepared to implement the changes to make this work when you are back home.
Bradgate park is a dogs on leads park. This makes training here so much easier and more enjoyable.
Most of the dogs I deal with daily, suffer from anxiety, show dominant behaviour towards their owners other people and other dogs.
They can be fearful in new situations. They can also be aggressive towards their owners or people entering into their home.
They can show aggressive behaviour towards dogs whilst they are on a lead. Many of these behaviours are more common than what you may think and can be changed with the correct guidance.
But you have to be prepared to change the way that you deal with your dog and you need to be prepared to put the time in to make these changes.
Most of the dogs that I deal with have learnt to live in a state of excitement and I can teach you how to calm them down, so that we can then focus on the real problem.
The Two Day Intensive Training Course allows you to build your confidence, and teaches your dog to gain respect for you and his surroundings, you just need to remember that these new rules and boundaries need to be implemented daily to see the best results.
Worried that your dog’s behaviour is too “bad”?
I’ve dealt with 100s of aggressive, nervous and ill behaved dogs in the past and I've got years of experience dealing with every behaviour and most breeds of dog and I've “seen it all”
You just need to remember that if your committed to changing your dogs behaviour then given patience and consistency you should see results.
When we train:
The two-day training course is normally conducted on either:
A Monday and Tuesday, or
A Wednesday and a Thursday.
Sometimes, with notice, training can be arranged on different days.
The course begins at either 8.30am or 9am. Let me know which time you’d prefer when booking. We will train for 8.5 hours over two days.
A deposit is required to secure your booking and the balance is due two weeks before the start of the training course. Once confirmed, deposits become non-refundable, but course dates may be changed subject to agreement, and with at least two weeks notice as I do understand that problems can occur. This can be arranged without losing your deposit. I do take bookings many weeks in advance with a high demand, so it can be disruptive at short notice to change dates.
Note: this is not a residential training course and dog and owner boarding is not included.
